Product Description

The ProCare SUPER LITE A.F.O. is a ready-to-wear support designed to help foot drop and other neurological conditions. In addition to preventing foot drop many wear this support to prevent falling, stabilize themselves while walking and improve their gate. Made from polypropylene to provide a semi-rigid section for toe clearance and support. It is thin and flexible and can be trimmed as needed with scissors. The heel opening make it more comfortable to wear and provides a better fit in shoes. Very durable and yet lightweight. Fits in most shoes. Choose left or right and men's or women's when ordering.

    • Thank you for contacting Better Braces. Unfortunetly this is the only AFO design that we carry. You may want to talk to a speicialist as they can sometimes assist by making customized AFO's to help with application.

    • What calf widths will the brace support? I'm a plus size woman and need to insure I can wear this.
    • The strap circumference on the Procare Super Lite A.F.O. is about 18in.

    • There is a 60-day return policy. You are responsible for the cost of shipping back if returned.

    • Can it be worn without alteration to the shoes?
    • Yes, you do not need to alter the shoe to use the Procare Super Lite AFO. However you can have a clinician heat mold the footplate for a more custom fit.
  • Kimberly at 11/10/2015 5:58 PM
    • Has this product been proven to prevent falls?
    • Kimberly
We have not completed any studies to prove that this product will prevent falls. There are many studies that have been done on AFOs and preventing falls but we have not tested our product
  • Coleen at 5/16/2014 1:11 PM
    • Can an extra calf padding be ordered as well? Does it come in white to match the AFO?
    • Coleen
No I am sorry there isn't extra padding available for the AFO

    Brace is too Tight

    Reviewed by:

I had surgery on my left hip socket and my pelvis. As a result I developed foot drop and numbness of my left leg. Gradually I got feeling back in my thigh, but still have no feeling in my left foot. My lower left leg continues to be full of pins and needles. Because my left foot was swollen for quite a while, I was unable to get my foot into any shoes. Finally, the swelling went down, and I was able to put on two different pairs of shoes. After several minutes of tugging and pushing, I was finally able to put both the brace and my foot into a left shoe. Unfortunately, the solid plastic part that clamps behind the lower leg was too small. It dug into my leg and also caused some numbness in my ankle. Is there a way to enlarge the plastic part? Or would I have to order a larger size and trim the bottom part to fit my shoes?
Pros: Lightweight, easy to put into shoe.
Cons: Upper part, where the Velcro is attached, is too tight on my leg. Even though the Velcro was loose, the plastic part was too tight and dug into my calf.
