Dislocated Kneecap Braces

The kneecap (patella) is the bone that protects the knee joint. It rides in a groove at the lower end of the thigh bone (femur) and is held in place by muscles and tendons. A blow or sudden twist can dislocate the kneecap, creating a painful injury caused when it slides out of place towards the outside of the leg. If you have suffered a dislocated kneecap, it is important to hold the kneecap in place with a brace as you will be more susceptible to dislocating it again. A knee brace can be used during the healing process as well as when you begin physical activities again.

Need help selecting a brace for your dislocated knee cap? Use our guided tool, Brace Advisor, to find the right brace for you based on whether you have had a previous dislocation or are looking to prevent a dislocation and your level of activity.
