I actually ended up buying 2 of the ultrasling lll for my surgery recovery. Since I have 6 weeks of 24/7 sling wear, walk to work in summer and can still do some low impact exercise, I would sweat and it was gross sitting around in a soggy sling. And the neck strap smelled, haha. Now I have one sling for sweaty workouts and change into a dry sling when I get home. It dries pretty fast though and is not hot or sweaty unless I'm exercising. The other reason for sling 2 was I found the XL too long. My arm was right at the divider length of L and XL so I went longer - not necessary. The L allows my elbow to sit better in the sling and gives my fingers more movement which is extremely helpful since I'm allowed to use my keyboard with that hand.
Pros: Easy to adjust, especially once I took advantage of the ability to cut off some of the excess neck strap length. Since the sling has to work with such a variety of heights, once I got the neck strap where I wanted it, I cut off some of the extra length as it made it easier to adjust. Waist strap long enough for those of us a bit more stout and can be trimmed for the XS folks. Easy to get in and out of sling with 1 hand.
Cons: The neck strap tends to twist and I have to adjust it frequently so the pad is flat. However, the newest sling I bought has a different neck pad and it is much better, stays flat. Had to trim edges of some velcro pieces as it would poke my skin.

    Itchy piece of crap

    Reviewed by:
Just had rotator cuff surgery. Was sent home from hospital with this sling. I don't not feel as if the elbow part of my arm is supported very well. It doesn't conform to the elbow. Seems to have a gap between me and the fabric which allows for a jolting action of my arm. The neck strap hurts my neck extremely bad and rolls up into a rope shape. It doesn't stay flat and the shoulder pad part is a joke. Mostly for cosmetics I'm guessing. Every seam where the different pieces are sewed together is extremely rough and itchy. The Velcro is itchy as well.
Pros: They've got the concept right. I can see how they hoped it would work.
Cons: Poor choice of fabric. Not soft enough. Seams are rough and itchy. Letter decals fall off starting on day 1

Easy to use and and adjust. Good support as required. Bought an extra one so I could wear one and wash one.
Pros: Great support. Easy to fit and adjust.Hand washable and air dries in 24 hours or less. Comes with anti rotation strap and exercise ball as well.
Cons: Decals they put on it with brand name come off right away a little at a time and are everywhere.Either make them permanent or just leave them off.

    Great Comfort & Support

    Reviewed by:
Unfortunately, I've had to wear a sling on several different occasions, but never had one as comfortable as the Ultrasling III. When I was first placed in the sling I worried that the pillow would be too bulky but it turns out that is my favorite feature of the sling with the ball and hand strap being my second favorite feature. It is just so supportive and comfortable. In the last three weeks I've only taken the sling off long enough to shower and dress/undress and then I'm actually glad to get it back on because it feels so much better with it on.

GREAT product!! I had the previous version, quite some time ago, that was excellent for its time. This version, 3, is vastly superior to the 2.

Superior to other slings available for post op use

    Reviewed by:
Due to full thickness tears, my supraspinatus & infraspinatus were reattached using anchors & I also had a subacromial decompression. I was fitted with an Ultrasling iii AB 2 weeks post op, after I started having issues with the sling I awakened with post op (the velcro did not stay fastened securely). I have found the Ultrasling iii to be much more stable & comfortable, extremely well ventilated, & extremely adjustable as far as fit. I personally prefer slings that are long enough to support my hand & fingers, so requested a larger size than what I would normally be fitted with (I would normally wear a medium, & I requested an extra large in order to have the additional length in the sling to support my hand/fingers). I am very happy with the fit, padding, ventilation & adjustability of this sling & am extremely pleased my Orthopedic surgeon replaced my original sling with the Ultrasling. Rotator cuff surgery involves a lengthy healing & rehabilitation, so I am glad the Ultrasling iii is available, as it is well made & appears to be very capable of holding up to the long term use I require.
