• I have a tore my ACL, MCL, and PCL, never had surgery and only wear my rigid Ossur custom brace while playing sports. I really tighten the brace as much as possible to keep it from moving and protect the knee. Lately I have been having significant pain in the back of my knee/ lower hamstring the day after and think I might be over tightening and stressing my hamstring muscle. Would a strap pad or undersleeve be recommended to help alleviate the strap pressure?
• A DonJoy Neoprene Knee Brace Undersleeve may help relieve the irritation from the straps, but you may want to check with the manufacturer of the Ossur brace regarding the fit.
• Joel at 3/7/2016 5:37 PM
• What is the best way to wash/clean these under sleeves?
• Wash by hand with a mild soap and let air dry
• Tim at 2/12/2016 3:50 AM
• I am trying to find a full leg neoprene sleeve for my knee brace. The brace runs from just above the ankle to just about 3 inches from the top of the thigh. I have to wear the brace 24/7. I would like the sleeve to keep my brace from sliding. Can you recommend a good sleeve and how I can get the right length all the sleeves I have tried in the past have all come up to short. Thank you for all your help.
• We unfortunatly do not make a sleeve that long. The longest neoprene sleeve we have is 17"
• Rex McClellan at 1/15/2016 1:38 PM
• My pain will sound kinda weird, there are times when I pick my foot up and it feels as if my knee is becoming dislocated! Also, when I sit for long periods, I get a "POP"! Sound once I stand that is extremely painful! Not to mention, I have swelling constantly, I had my 3rd knee surgery (the last for a torn meniscus), after the surgery my knee swelled up huge, and it hasn't went down since! Of course with the weather is swells way worse than my usual norm, but as it is it's very painful! Which is the best knee brace fro me?
Thanks, Rex
• Take a look at the Reaction Web Knee Brace. The Reaction absorbs force on the knee and dispearses the force away from the anterior knee which will decrease pain in that area. The webing design will support the knee and the undersleeve can help with swelling.

• Myy pain is on the outsiide of my right and right below the knee, feels like my bones are breaking. What style brace will work best for me ,had to be lightweight.
• The OA Reaction web knee brace will help alleviate the pain in both of those areas. The brace will have a hinge on the inside of your knee that will provide pressure to unload that outside and the web material of the front of the brace will help with the anterior knee pain. http://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-oa-reaction-web-knee-brace
• Judy at 11/30/2015 5:22 PM
• I wear a rigid ACL brace with a neoprene sleeve underneath for skiing and hiking. The sleeve works well to keep the brace itself from chafing. My problem is the seam that runs the length of the sleeve rubs my skin raw, especially when hiking. Any suggestion on how to alleviate this issue? I've tried a Lycra sleeve but the brace slips too much.
• Judy
I would have to suggest using the Lycra sleeve instead. The Lycra sleeve has a softer seam and can even be turned inside out for a even softer surface http://www.betterbraces.com/knee-brace-undersleeve-cotton-lycra
• Kristie at 10/18/2015 8:27 PM
• What is the difference between this under sleeve and the Lycra and cotton under Sleeve?
• Kristie
The material is the difference. Neoprene is wet suit material and Lycra is a soft cotton.
• Paul at 9/16/2015 9:37 AM
• I am looking to get a neoprene and a cotton/Lycra sleeve for different applications depending upon the time of year in Canada.

My measurements are :
18 1/2 inches 6 inches above the knee
15 3/4 inches around the centre of the knee
16 1/4 inches 6 inches below the knee

Which size of each sock should I be ordering?

I am also looking at the yellow pads as you have stated they deal with sweat much better as I mainly use my brace when doing sports. Will these pass change any of the sleeve choices?

Thanks
• Paul
You will want to order the medium size in your undersleeves. The chamois pads will not effect the sleeves at all
• Marcus at 9/7/2015 10:04 AM
• If I have a donjoy 4titude brace(size M) should I get a size M undersleeve ? And my brace starts slipping when play basketball what can I do to prevent that?
• Marcus
Yes order the medium undersleeve. A neoprene sleeve will help prevent the sliding better than the Lycra.
• gen at 6/14/2015 9:57 AM
• I have a rigid knee brace (not a donjoy) is this sleeve universal?
• Yes, the DonJoy Neoprene Knee Brace Undersleeve can be worn under any rigid hinged knee brace. You need to measure your thigh, 6in above the center of your knee to get the size sleeve you need.
• myasia at 4/22/2015 10:03 AM
• what is the knee brace material
• Myasia
The Neoprene Knee Brace undersleeve is made of neoprene
• Dan at 4/9/2015 11:56 AM
• We are heading out on a windsurfing vacation in a warm climate. What sleeve would be best under a DJ brace? Neoprene or lycra? I am wondering if lycra will get too slippery when wet.

thanks
• Dan
Wearing the brace without a sleeve is best for migration but if you need to wear one the Lycra will be cooler than the neoprene, but the brace may stay up better with the neoprene
• Slim at 2/9/2015 9:37 AM
• Will this sleeve, or any other sleeve work with the Bio Skin Qlok Dynamic Patella Traction Knee Brace?
• Slim
The neoprene Undersleeve is used with our rigid knee braces, using it under that other brace is going to be very uncomfortable and rather hot.
• jeff simon at 10/15/2014 10:43 PM
• I have the cotton/lycra sleeve in med would I be the same size in the Neoprene sleeve ?
• yes
• leah at 10/7/2014 2:45 PM
• Why is there a cut out hole? Does this male it a better sleeve or not?
• The hole is where the kneecap goes
• Denis at 10/7/2014 9:58 AM
• Is there a better option as a under sleeve that can keep the playmaker 2 in place?
• No
You should not wear an undersleeve with this brace. do you have a warp around brace because they do slide compared to the sleeves.
• Denis at 10/7/2014 8:20 AM
• Hi,

I have two Donjoy Plamaker II for meniscus tears that I use in playing soccer, however the braces tend to migrate down once the leg starts getting sweating.

Would the DonJoy Neoprene Knee Brace Undersleeve could be used under the Donjoy Playmaker II to try keep the brace in place?

Thanks
• The sleeves are used for rigid knee braces not soft braces like the Playmaker II.
• Blake at 6/17/2014 11:43 PM
• I have 2 Defiance knee braces that i wear for wakeboarding. When they get wet they seem to slip down quite a bit. Would the neoprene under sleeve help prevent that? Or is there a better product that you would suggest?
• Blake
You can try the neoprene sleeve under the braces or we alos have some strap bads that have silicone on them to help keep the brace up. http://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-26-piece-of-silicone-strap-padding
• Sierra at 1/31/2014 10:50 PM
• i play basketball and i need an under sleeve that is comfortable and does not make my brace slip...i just got a brand new brace so there should be no issues with the brace. please help. i need to find an undersleeve that will cover my whole knee and make my brace more comfortable to wear
• The neoprene undersleeve would work better for slipping of the brace than the lycra
• Wendy at 12/20/2013 3:33 PM
• I would like to get a sleeve to wear under my new brace for long distance running. I worried about the neoprene being too hot?? Is it good for running in warm weather?
• Wendy,
The neoprene sleeve is fairly thin, it is 2 mm thick. If you are worried about heat you can go with the Lycra undersleeve, which is a Lycra/cotton blend. Thank you for your question.
• Dan at 11/4/2013 11:42 AM
• Does the sleeve have a hole in the back as well? I have a DonJoy
• Dan,
The Neoprene Knee Brace Undersleeve has a cut out for the patella but there is no popiteal cut out (behind the knee). Thank you for your question and for contacting DJO.
• chris at 5/3/2013 7:29 PM
• which size would you recommend with the following measurements:

thigh 20..5
knee center 15.5
center calf 16

my old one (not a donjoy) was given with my brace like 2 yrs ago and it was a large, it is worn all day under my brace but it now is stretched out and falls.
at the time i got it, it was fine but now not so good, plus i am loosing weight.
If i had to choose on my own, maybe the Med?

thanks
• Hello, Chris -

We would recommend that you go with the size Large but if you would like for it to be more snug, you also are on the cusp of a medium (since you are losing weight as well).

The Neoprene Undersleeve would be best for you.
• Tony at 4/21/2013 12:41 AM
• My height is 180cm so what size should choose ?
• Hello, Tony -

In order to determine your correct size, you would have to take 3 circumference measurements:
1. around the center of your knee
2. 6" above the center of your knee
3. 6" below the center of your knee

Your leg measurements would determine what size brace you would need:
Size Thigh Knee Center Calf
XS 13" - 15.5" (33-39 cm) 12"-13" (30-33 cm) 10"-12" (25-30 cm)
S 15.5" - 18 .5" (39-47 cm) 13"-14" (33-35 cm) 12"-14" (30-35 cm)
M 18.5" - 21" (47-53 cm) 14"-15" (35-38 cm) 14"-16" (35-40 cm)
L 21" - 23.5" (53-60 cm) 15"-17" (38-43 cm) 16"-18" (40-45 cm)
XL 23.5" - 26.5" (60-67 cm) 17"-19" (43-48 cm) 18"-20" (45-50 cm)
XXL 26.5" - 29.5" (67-75 cm) 19"-21" (48-53 cm) 20"-22" (50-55 cm)
XXXL 29.5" - 32" (75-83 cm) 21"-23" (53-58 cm) 22"-24" (55-60 cm)

• how thick is the DonJoy neoprene Knee Brace Undersleeve
• Hi James,
The DonJoy Neoprene Knee Brace Undersleeve is 4 mm thick.
Thanks and have a great day!

• I have a donjoy knee brace and need a new sleeve to wear under it. The one I have now is 16" long..how long is this one?
• That would measure the same
• Travis at 6/18/2012 4:44 PM
• How tight should the neoprene sleeve fit? I measured 17.5", ordered the small. It was difficult to get on, once on it feels snug.
• What were your knee circumference and your calf measurements? The sleeve might be difficult to get on because of the neoprene, If it is snug but not uncomfortable, then it is correct.

• I play basketball and have a don joy custom knee brace and use the cotton lycra undersleeve my brace slides with the sleeve will the neoprene undersleeve fix the sliding or what will ?
• You may want to try an DonJoy Anti-Migration Band For Rigid Braces, (http://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-anti-migration-band-for-rigid-braces) if you do not have one already.

You can also use DonJoy 26" Piece of Silicone Strap Padding (http://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-26-piece-of-silicone-strap-padding) to replace your current strap pads and add more grip to them.
• LaurieGardner at 9/30/2010 8:58 AM
• what colors does the knee brace undersleeve come in?
• This knee brace undersleeve is only in available in black.
• Jesse at 8/31/2010 11:38 PM
• I have a custom fitted locking knee brace that keeps sliding down my leg with the liner I use. It only stays in place when I use it without the under-sleeve which is very uncomfortable. Do yo have a recommendation for a sleeve that will keep the brace from sliding down with the sock ?
• Hello Jesse,

Have you tried the DonJoy Knee Brace Undersleeve - Supplex/Lycra? Perhaps an alternate material will alleviate the issue.

Another option is the DonJoy Anti-Migration Band For Rigid Braces, which, made of suede, replaces the strap pads on the upper calf strap (#4, 5 strap) and helps to keep the brace suspended on the leg.

Good answer to the problem

I have been using the Lycra sleeve but for some reason a brace strap that goes behind and just above the knee has been irritating my leg. The neoprene sleeve is thick enough to stop the shaving. Works as I hoped it would.

Great addition to the Donjoy Brace

Reviewed by:

I have the Donjoy 4titude CI brace on both knees. This sleeve works great underneath the brace. It does not migrate and provides an added level of comfort. I wear men's compression tights full leg and I can slip these over those as well. In combination the best support and comfort with no migration. Great product but kind of pricey as it is 30$ dollars for each. A over the counter sleeve is only 20 bucks and this should be between $15-$20 but what can you do. I would recommend this item.
