    • The Don Joy Performance Bionic Back Brace is a low profile neoprene back support that will help to decrease some pain and keep you lower back in a more neutral position https://www.betterbraces.com/bionic-back-support

    • I am looking for a great brace that will support my lower back an hip. Do you have a great recommendation for me?
    • LaTanya
We do not have a brace that will support both the hip and the lower back, however if you have pain in both areas, it is a good chance that once you strart giving your lower back support the hip will start to feel better as well. Our back braces are broken down into those that will give you mild to moderate suppost such as the Don Joy Comfort FORM Back Brace and the Bionic Back Brace. https://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-comfortform-back-support https://www.betterbraces.com/bionic-back-support The ComfortFORM is an elastic brace that has a pad in the back of the brace to give added support, the Bionic Back Brace is a neoprenen brace with an area in the back to give increased support. We also have our moderate to full support back braces such as the EXOS FORM 627 which is a little more rigid of a brace but very supportive and adjustable. https://www.betterbraces.com/exos-form-627-spine-bracing-system

    • Becky
Yes you can wash the brace by hand in a mild soap and let the brace air dry

    • Would this be a great brace for me, i work in the post office? Im constantly lifting and standing so looking for support
    • Yes this brace will provide lumbar support while you are lifting and moving around. The brace will remind you to stay in a nuetral position while bending over.

    • Hi there. My mom has been having persistent pains in her leg and was recently diagnosed as having Early lumbar spondylosis. She asked me to purchase an orthopaedic lumbar support for her back but I am not quite sure which one to procure. Can you please recommend the appropriate one for her circumstance.thank you.
    • Jacque
I would suggest the EXOS FORM 626 back brace. This back brace is one of our newest, it provides maximal support of the lumber spine. The brace is very adjustable and comfortable to wear. The brace has two panels in the back of the brace that are thermoformable so they can be formed to fit the curves of the lumbar spine.

    • I have a T12 compression fracture acute. What brace would be the best for me as to help with stabilization and healing?
    • Michelle
We do not have a brace that will cover that area on this site. We do have the Don Joy LSO w/Chairback Brace available from DJO Direct at 800-336-6569. This brace covers the back from T9-S1.

    • I am 14 and I have chronic lower back pain due to scoliosis. Will this brace help relieve my back pain?
    • We do not have a back brace for scoliosis, so this support will help keep your back in a neutral position which may help with your back pain
  • Dale Feick at 7/16/2014 6:43 AM
    • I have been , diagnosed with desiccation and narrowing of L3-L4,L5-S1, and "grade 1 pseudospondylolisteis of L4 slipped anterior to L5 by 3 mm due to facet anthropathy".
I am doing physical therapy but am looking for help while playing golf.
      What do you recommend?
    • Dale
The DonJoy Deluxe Back support is an elastic brace that will help with general back support however it might be a bit cumbersome while playing gold. Take a look at the Saunders S'port all Back Support with Shorts: https://www.betterbraces.com/s-port-all-back-support-w-shorts This brace is a little lighter and is reccommended for those who want to do activities while wearing a back support
  • Amanda at 7/10/2014 7:11 AM
    • My son has a stress fracture in his L5. He has been cleared for sports (soccer), but the trainer recommended he have a back brace for other activities, or for when his back starts bothering him when he's playing. Is this the right brace for him? Not sure how to size it--he has a 33 inch waist, and I'm not sure what measuring "just below the waist" means. Do I measure around the hips?
    • Amanda
I would suggest the Sauders S'port all Back Support: https://www.betterbraces.com/s-port-all-back-support-w-shorts It is made for those who want to participate in sports. You should measure right at the level of the belly button.
  • Mary Lou Evans at 4/3/2014 6:56 PM
    • I'm looking for a back brace my 16 year old son can wear while playing football. He had a stress fracture of L5 . He was in a back brace for 3 months. Cleared now to resume sports. I'm looking for extra support for his back while he plays football.
    • Thank you for your question. The Saunders Work Sport Industrial Back Support may be a good option for your son. This brace features belt loops to thread your belt through to hold the support in place.
  • Tom at 1/21/2014 11:20 AM
    • What is the width of the brace?
      10 inches?
    • This brace will be just over 10" in length.
  • David at 11/15/2013 5:19 PM
    • Is this back brace appropriate for someone recently cleared for sports (soccer) after a T12 compression fracture. I'm sure this brace supports one area more effectively than another. ??
    • David
This brace is for lumbar support L1-L5 so it will not cover the T12 vertebrea. You can try the DonJoy Drytex Lumbralsacral Support
https://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-drytex-lumbosacral-support. I looks as if it might be a little higher than the Deluxe. You should also speak to your athletic trainer or team physician to see if you need to wear a back brace. Might be hard to move around while playing soccer

I don't know what I'd do without this

    Reviewed by:
I have chronic back pain, probably due to arthritis. I used to be able to use the back brace as a last resort to solve the back pain. Now the pain is persistent enough that I have to use it every day, but I try to keep it to a minimum, like mornings only. The brace makes it tolerable. I honestly don't know what I'd do without it.

An orthopedic doctor gave me the first one. I have since ordered a second one so that I'm never without it.

    Medium support for continued treatment

    Reviewed by:
Purchased to help support and passively correct multiple disk herniation, left side sciatica and correct posterior pelvic tilt.

Medium support means it's does a good job in providing some additional compression of the lower back and the feeling reminds me to work on hip tilt and core engagement.

This is not a support that is so aggressive it prevents movement but helps you to realize you may not be doing this correctly.

Good for those with mild to moderate severity issues and can be worn daily but not intended to fully correct. Should be used as part of rehab strategy. Those needing more support should look to more rigid options.

    Two cautions-

Although it is thin neoprene, it still retains good amount of heat. Could become uncomfortable in high ambient temperatures.

Worn under my company uniform and I didn't take that into considering wearing clothes over it. Take pant size into consideration if you intend to wear under clothes. Your pants may not fit.
