- I broke my ankle badly last year playing baseball. I'm full of screws and a metal plate. I want extra support getting back out there is season. What would you suggest. I've been looking at the bionic ankle support
- The Bionic ankle will provide mild ankle support. I would suggest a brace with a little more support such as the Don Joy Stabilizing Pro ankle brace. this brace is worn by athletes and will provide better support than the bionic

- I managed to stress fracture my outer metatarsal bone and severely strained both peroneal tendon in my left foot. Rather than go with a cast or walking boot for 5-6 weeks I chose to forgo that option because I drive a dirt racecar, and racing season starts in 3 weeks. I'm looking for a brace that will help provide some compression on my foot to help ease/swelling, and help support/stabilize my foot and ankle until the tendons can heal, but one that I can still wear under my shoe and compete with. Would the Bionic ankle be a good option?
- Sure the Bionic Ankle will offer mild support and fit into a shoe

- My question pertains to sizing of the bionic ankle brace, I had a bad fracture to my left ankle 24 years ago (42 now). Due to the callous formation my ankle is larger. Wearing a size 11 shoe should I go with the large? However I do not want to sacrifice the appropiate support.
- If you go with the larger size because of a larger ankle the brace should still provide adequate support.

- I sprained my ankle a few years ago pretty bad. I've tried many braces and stabilizers and nothing helps. My ankle rolls when I walk or run and gives out on me. What would you suggest would help? Thanks!
- Gillian
Since you have chronic instability I would suggest the Don Joy Velocity. The Velocity is a hinged ankle brace that will fit inot your shoe but provide maximum stabilization and should prevent the ankle rolling. https://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-velocity-ankle-brace I would also suggest the moderate support feature for the brace

- My fibularis was injured from just behind the my ankle bone along to where it attaches on the side of my foot.
I tried the A60, but I got absolutely no support from it. No matter how tight I made it my heel slipped and my foot moved all over the place. The smaller size wouldve been too small. Taping works, but its hard to do.
I would like to have enough motion to be able to jog and hike, but enough support to keep from twisting or inverting my foot. Do you have any recommendations? - Ana
Try the Don Joy Stabilizing Pro ankle brace. this brace has more support than the A60 but is like a tape job but does not get loose after 30 minute of sweating

- I severely sprained my left ankle. I just ordered from you the Aircast Airsport . I like it because of the cushioning, which I need for my sore ankle. But it is very bulky in the shoe. Is the Bionic ankel brace less bulky? Does it have the same kind of padding? Thank you.
- The Airsport provides moderate support for the ankle, the Bionic Ankle will provide mild support and have less padding but will be thinner to fit in the shoe better

- My daughter plays competitive club volleyball in college. She suffered a subtalar medial dislocation (dislocated her ankle). Can you recommend a brace for her? She was told dislocations can re-occur and is looking for a very stabilizing ankle brace. Thank you.
- Joanne
I would suggest the Don Joy Velocity ankle brace for your daughter. This brace is our most supportive ankle brace as it is hinged. The brace comes in three different support styles and I would suggest either the moderate or extra support for your daughter. https://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-velocity-ankle-brace

- I am recovering from a fracture of my fibula and a high ankle sprain. I was told I need a better brace to prevent future high ankle sprains as I will break my ankle the next time it happens. What is the best brace to wear daily while providing the best support for all activities?

I would suggest the don Joy Stabilizing Pro ankle brace. This brace is similar to having the ankle tapped without getting loose after 30 minutes of sweating. https://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-stabilizing-pro-ankle-brace

- Hello,
Thank you for contacting Betterbraces. This is a great option for mild support to the ankle. It will fit great in a volleyball shoe with its sleek design. If your looking for more Rigid support I recommend you look at the Velocity Ankle brace, this is more of the common style worn by volleyball players. - Would this brace help drop foot?
If not could you recommend one
Thanks - Hi Gus,
This brace does not help with Drop Foot. I would recommend an AFO Brace, the Procare Super Lite AFO.

Great brace
I am an retired marathon runner. I broke my ankle very badly this March. I am recovering but have weak ankles and roll out and cause more damage. This brace provides protection for both sides of my ankle and relief from pain. My orthopedic surgeon really liked your brace and I am wearing most of the time. Very comfortable. The price is amazing. I highly recommend it. Great for runners. Walkers. And for injuriesOutstanding product for use after ligamentous ankle injury!
Had torn the medial tibial ligament of my right foot which had put me out of commission for close to one year. Following recuperation, I was experiencing temporary return of pain every time I would try to work out, despite trying different types of able braces. However, after starting to use the bionic ankle brace, I was able to accelerate my work-outs and sports activities to my original levels with only minimal temporary discomfort. Truly a life-saver!Outstanding support
Outstanding support. In the past month, I've rolled my ankle twice. Actually ended up in urgent care the second time. This brace has solved my problem. I wear it with my work boots and have never felt so stable. I'm wearing it more often now. Running errands, doing yard work, etc. If you have ankle stability issues, this is the brace for you.Football Coach says YES
I have coached youth football for 29 years and seen a lot of sprains in my day. This is best, most comfortable ankle brace out there, per my players. I have a kid who prone to sprains, so he wears his to every practice and game, it does reduce the chance of re-spraining, due to its construction. I highly recommend this product.Great support!
The brace gives great support while being sleek in the design. I have had a devastating injury and this helps a lot. The only issue I have is the sizing goes by shoe size but it's very tight. It works but a little hard to get on and off.Increases support, permits return to physical training
I suffered calcaneous fracture and complex ankle fracture, requiring multiple surgeries with titanium implants. This resulted in much swelling, ankle weakness, and reduced my level of physical activity. With this brace and orthotics, I resumed physical training, lost weight, and increased my independence!Pros: Lightweight, easy to wear and washable. Fits many shoes.Cons: Ankle may swell if worn too long.Share Your Usage: Recovering from Injury, Sports, Chronic Instability
Great Product
Recently rolled my ankle on the golf course. Bought the Donjoy Bionic ankle brace and it really added a great deal of support. Was actually able to walk almost normally within a few days while wearing the brace.Pros: Supportive, lightweight, comfortable, inexpensive.Cons: Since the sleeve is a pretty tight fit, putting it on a sore swollen ankle can be a little painful.Be safe and order s size up
Ordered this brace, came within 2 days as shipment stated however I wish I took more consideration reading reviews.Pros: Durable and gives support, not bulkyCons: Very snug and if you have an injury it is painful to put in and take off . I have narrow feet and I ordered based on my shoes size and it is very hard to wear not to mention painfulShare Your Usage: Recently Injured, Recovering from Injury
Bionic Ankle Brace
I broke my ankle and wore a cast for 8 weeks, and then I was placed in a very bulky boot for 10 weeks. The ankle is still weak and extremely vulnerable to a sprain or even another fracture. The brace supports the ankle using the same metal supports as the original bulky boot I was placed in but is lighter in weight and much less bulky. It is just too tight on my leg causing numbness.Pros: The brace is well made. The support it offers is great.Cons: The brace is too tight on my leg, causing problems with circulation of the ankle and foot.Share Your Usage: Recovering from Injury
awesome brace for post-sprain
My 13 yr old daughter used this brace after a severe ankle sprain and it has been wonderful for her. She felt amazing support and was able to walk with it on only 3 days after crutches do to the side support she felt while wearing it. We walked all over NYC and she didn't complain about it once. It was snug and didn't rub or bother her at all. It was just what she needed before transitioning into a "sock" brace as she eased back into her dance training.Pros: great stability, easy to useShare Your Usage: Recovering from Injury, Daily Use
