ProCare® Transitional 172 Cervical Collar

The ProCare® Transitional 172 Cervical Collars were designed to provide optimal support and comfort. The collar provides substantial motion restriction while minimizing painful pressure points that can lead to skin maceration and/or breakdown. Enhanced comfort using soft, breathable foam padding helps promote and encourage patient compliance. Removable open cell foam pads wick moisture away from the skin to ensure proper patient hygiene and comfort while minimizing skin irritation. X-ray, CT and MRI lucent.

Indications: Restricts cervical spine flexion, extension and rotation to promote patient recovery.

  • From Martin at 9/13/12 2:28 PM
    • How do I know which size I need? I mean, how do I measure the height? My neck is a little over 16" around and I'm 6'2" tall. Also, what is a set? Please, let me know. Thank you.
    • You measure from your chin to the valley at the top of your sternum. The set means it is the collar and the pads for the collar.
  • From mar at 6/2/13 12:01 PM
    • So when you buy the collar the price does not include the pads for it??
    • Hello Mar,

    • Michelle
The back peice is foam with some plastic on the back of it. The plastic is just rigid enough but not hard.
  • From Suzanne Smith at 5/22/14 11:06 AM
    • How do I clean the pads?
    • Hand wash and air dry
  • From Karen G. at 7/11/14 1:37 PM
    • Do you accept medical insurance for cervical collars? I have 2 bulging disc replaced and they sent me home with this collar but I need a new clean one.
    • Thank you for your question. This answer would depend on your insurance coverage. It would be suggested to contact your insurance provider to see what would be covered.
