Patella Stabilizers and Patella Tracking Braces
Many people experience knee pain because the structures in the knee joint no longer line up correctly. These conditions are known as patella tracking issues, and can be caused by a previous injury, surgery or even age. Not only does it cause pain, but it can also cause the knee joint to wear down more quickly than normal. Wearing a patella stabilizer can help alleviate the pain caused by patella tracking issues. They do this by supporting the kneecap and "lifting" it back in to proper position. Patella stabilizers also provide compression all around the knee to help strengthen the area and to keep the ligaments warm. This compression may also help prevent kneecap dislocations by fighting against unnatural movement. Many patella stabilizers have an open donut that fits comfortably around the kneecap to give it extra support.
