DonJoy Spider Knee Pad reviews

Ohio Sports Doc
These pads were perfect for use in a demanding environemnt with no slippage and open ventlated popliteal space. Low profile, yet high perforrming. Dry quickly, no excess heat build-up. Quality stitching. - Ohio Sports Doc
Doug D.
Harvesting ones own patella tendon for ACL recontruction leave your knee very tender. For me it's been 5 years and still painful to kneel on the steel bed of my pickup truck. I use this knee pad primarily for power yoga classes I take in the late fall, winter, early spring. You will sweat with this pad on your knee, just need to air dry it. I gave it a 4 star because of the sweating, but would rate it 5 star for staying in place during a workout. - Doug D.

  • From Tom Griswold at 5/3/11 8:58 AM
    • How do these not bind in the area behind the knee? Is there any ventilation? I am looking for support and protection for motorcross riding. Once on, they would be on for hours of hot and sweaty riding.

(This also about what my budget is to spend at this time.)

      Thank you,
    • The back of the Spider Knee brace has a thin breakable material on the back of the knee. The waffle design rigid foam would help to protect the front of the knee with a direct blow. However, many motorcross athletes typically wear a rigid patella cup such as our impact guard which attaches to a rigid knee brace. If you have any questions please call 800-553-6019.
  • From Pamela Hudson at 7/6/11 9:02 PM
    • I am looking for a volleyball knee pad that will for over my tru pull advanced knee brace. What do you recommend?
    • The Donjoy Spider Knee Support would be the best "volleyball pad" to wear over the Donjoy TruPull Advanced Sleeve. Just order one size larger than your current brace.
  • From Judy Larson at 1/16/12 9:20 AM
    • What is the current HCPCS insurance billing code for 2012?
    • Hi Judy,

The current HCPC code is A4466.

  • From Debra at 1/7/13 4:55 PM
    • I haven't played vollleyball in a long time and am concerned about jumping. Will this brace provide support for the knee in terms of jumping?
    • No if you need support you should direct your attention to one of our braces witha polycentric hinge, such as the DonJoy Delux or economy.

  • From Luis Vega at 8/5/13 10:07 PM
    • My son is a catcher and has mild case of bursitis, will this be a good product to wear for catching ans sliding into bases? Can you recommend another product for bursitis?
    • Hello Luis,

This knee pad will be great to use when he is hitting, he call also use it in addition to his catcher's gear. The best thing to do for Bursitis is to stay off your knees. If he has to continue to hit the ground with his knees, he will continue to irritate the injury. I recommend a Knee Pad for his Knee.

      Thanks for Contacting Donjoy.
  • From Robin at 10/18/13 11:21 AM
    • Will this knee pad fit under a custom Don Joy knee brace?
    • Robin
Thank you for contacting product support. No that knee pad will not fit under the brace but you could get a little bigger size and wear one over the brace
  • From ron at 12/1/13 9:02 AM
    • My daughter has developed jumpers knee. She plays basketball and am looking for something to stabilize the tendon below the knee as well as knee protection. Will this help with the Jumpers knee?
    • Hello,

The Spider Knee Pad provides protection against pounding, sliding or falling directly on the knee. I recommend a patella tendon strap for the injury. See the link below.

      Thanks for Contacting Donjoy.
  • From Elizabeth at 4/2/14 9:06 AM
    • I walk on a Treadmaster and lately my knees are bothering me from to mush pressure. Would the "Spider Knee" work better that the either the "Cross Strap Knee Brace" or KneedIT Knee Band"?
    • Elizabeth
The Reaction Knee Brace is indicated for someone who has anterior knee pain or pain in front of the knee. All of the braces you mentions could be helpful, but the Reaction will help to absorb the pressure put on your knee everytime you step dpwn and disperse it within the webing of the brace to help decrease pain.
  • From Julie at 4/7/14 9:02 AM
    • Hi there,

what's the best knee pad you have out to wear over my custom knee brace for snowboarding and if I was fitted for a large brace what size knee pad should i order to wear over my custom brace.
    • Julie
There isn't a knee pad made to go over a custom Defiance but we do have a impact guard that is used for that purpose by motorcross riders:
