Easy-to-use Compression Technology

Designed with patient need and comfort in mind, the DonJoy Back Brace effectively address a variety of clinical spinal indications. The unique Lace Design, utilizing a patent-pending tear drop channel, works with the posterior compression panels to provide a smooth, uniform pull. By simply pulling the side handle, the patient may quickly tighten or loosen the compressive forces as they see fit to accommodate for activity, various clothing types or weight fluctuation.

  • Easy-to-use compression technology.
  • Simple hook-loop velcro panel closure system.
  • Proprietary compression panels allow for a smooth, uniform pull.
  • Rigid, heat-moldable contoured anterior panel and liner for increased abdominal compression and rigidity to reduce loads on the intervertebral discs.
  • Pull handle allows for a quick closure that can be adjusted according to patient need.
  • Maximum comfort for patient compliance.
  • Soft, breathable, interior spacer fabric with outer mesh allows heat to escape without compromising stability.
  • Lightweight and low profile.

    • My daughter is 14 and she has lower back pain from two bulging disc, she has had two injections. She is a basketball player what kinda brace would you suggest
    • Sarah
If you want a brace that she can wear while playing basketball then I would suggest the Saunders All S'Port Back Support. The back support is attached to shorts so that it will not roll up on her while moving
  • Chris at 7/19/2015 2:16 PM
    • Might be a silly question.....
Is this brace worn outside the clothing or under the clothing? Thanks!
    • Chris
Can be worn on either inside or outside of clothing

    • Can this brace be used in a pool- is it waterproof ?
    • Yes the DonJoy Back Brace can be used in the water. Just make sure you rinse the brace with clean water and let it air dry.

    • Hi,

I've had pain in my lower back due to a degenerative disc for the last 4 years or so. I'm an avid cyclist, and the pain gets very annoying when I'm doing strenuous climbing; steep hills, mountains (among other things). Is this something I could where while riding my bike?
    • Neil
You do not want to wear the DonJoy Back brace while doing vigorous activity. The Saunders S'port All Back Support is the only back brace that I would reccommend wearing while doing activity. The brace is elastic to allow for movement, but still should give some support to the lower back. http://www.betterbraces.com/s-port-all-back-support-w-shorts
  • Bob at 1/20/2015 9:42 PM
    • 1. The Don Joy Back Brace appears to come in 3 versions--Regular (10"), Lite (9") and Low Profile (8"). Is that correct? I deduced this from the discussions above.

      2. Are there any pictures of the front of this brace?
    • There are three versions, we unfortunatlydo not have picture of the front of the brace. The Regular and the Low Profile have an anterior panel in the front of the brace that attaches to the belt. the Lite does not come with this panel.
  • Misha at 1/16/2015 3:59 PM
    • i have disk herniations in L4/L5 and I was wondering if you recommended the Don Joy Back brace Lite or Regular? What is the difference between the two?
    • Misha
The Don Joy Back Brace would be a good option for you. The difference between the Regular and the lite is the height of the belt. The Regular is 10 inches and the Lite is 9 inches and does not come with an anterior panel
  • Gordon at 10/17/2014 8:10 AM
    • I have L-5/6 herniation, like AJ, 200 LBS 5'10" and I have to work, can I wear this to work ? Can I claim it on my insurance ?
    • Gordon
You can wear this brace under your shirt to work. We do not except insurance on the website. We can bill insurance if you have a prescrition from your physician and you purchase the brace through one of our sales reps. You can find your local sales rep here: http://www.djoglobal.com/contact-us/sales-rep-locator
  • Lucy at 10/13/2014 11:14 PM
    • Hi I have being suffering from L5 and S1 herniated disc for several years. Which brace would you recommend to help with pain? Need it to get back to work soon.
    • Lucy
The DonJoy Back Brace or the Exos FORM 627. http://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-back-brace http://www.betterbraces.com/exos-form-627-spine-bracing-system
Both braces have a anterior panel and semi-rigid back panel to help keep the lower back in proper alingment and help reduce pain. The DonJoy Back Brace uses a pully system to tighten the back of the brace for support. The Exos FORM is a little more comfortable and adjustable . It has more adjustability to differnt body types.

    • Hi There! I have been looking for relief for some years not and I am not a candidate right now anyways for surgery. I have a disc herniation at L4/L5 and L5/S1. Can you recommend a brace for me?
    • Dan
The Exos Form 627 is a great back brace for someon like you. http://www.betterbraces.com/exos-form-627-spine-bracing-system The brace offers very good support and is customizable and comfortable. The brace uses our Boa technology to tighten the brace either on the top or bottom depending on your comfot level. The Brace is light wieght and low profile.
  • Tammy Farias at 8/23/2014 7:39 AM
    • I purchased this for my husband. Can this brace be worn all day? Or how many hours per day can it be worn?
    • Tammy
This brace can be worn all day if needed. I would not reccommend wearing it to bed but it is supposed to keep the lower back in a good position while walking sitting etc.
  • NO at 8/9/2014 11:33 AM
    • I have SI problems and low back problems after being hit by a car riding my bike. I looked at the SI brace and think this one would serve both problems. Is my thinking right? I had a total hip replacement, if that helps you answer the question. Thank you.
    • The SI brace will help with SI joint problems but not lowerback. For both I would suggest the DonJoy Back Brace in the Low Profile version. It is 8" tall in the back but will support the lumbar spine and although it does not cross the SI joint it should help your positioning to decrease SI pain http://www.betterbraces.com/donjoy-back-brace

    • Hi, I am looking at this brace for my mother.
She has no cushion left between her L4 and L5 vertebrae.
She is also a nurse, constantly lifting people from their beds.
I want her to have support and protection while lifting, but be able to remove or loosen the brace when not in need of support.
    • Mike
Thank you for contacting product support. This back brace would be perfect for your mother. It provides support from L1 to L5 and is adjustable
  • Glenn at 10/22/2013 11:25 AM
    • Do people find that the back brace causes compression of the stomach and have difficulty eating with it on? I have lost 20 pounds since wearing the back brace for a month.
    • Glenn,
Our consumers have not been reporting any weight loss associated with the back brace. The brace is designed with the benefit of helping to alleviate back pains associate with disc problems, chronic pains and work-related lower back pain. Thank you for your questions.

Very beneficial

Reviewed by:
I'm actually ordering one in a smaller size because I've lost weight and this one is now too big. Once I got used to it, it's pretty comfortable considering how big it is. I have too many things going on with my lower back to mention, but if I go more than 10 minutes without it (unless I'm sitting in my comfy chair) I'm starting to hurt a lot worse. It gives a lot of support and really helps!

Great Support!

Reviewed by:
I am 14 and I recently fell off a horse and got a compression fracture. My L-3 vertebra is no wedge shaped instead of rectangular. There is also a big crack across it. This brace provide great support and pain relief. This brace was given to me by an orthopedic specialist. He said this is his favorite brace brand. The only thing I don't like is the strings in the back come lose and I have to take it off and readjust it every couple of hours.
