  • From Cynthia at 12/6/13 10:20 AM
    • Is this brace appropriate for sciatica? What other braces would you recommend for sciatica?
    • Cynthia
Thank you for contacting product support. The SI belts will relieve pain around the SI joint not nessecarily sciatica. Sciatica could be coming from any of the nerve roots in the lower back region. Any of our lumbar supports will help with back pain and keeping your spine neutral, which in turn may help your sciatica. Please ask your medical practitioner what will help you best, ie. bracing stretching, PT.
  • From Steve at 3/19/14 2:08 PM
    • My back pain starts at the L5-S1 area and runs all the way down my right leg to my toes. Calling it 'Sciatica' is the simple description but the symptoms are on my MRI reports are foraminal stenosis, degenerative disc disease with a side order of osteoarthritis. I'm in pain 24/7 but still manage to live my life rather happily. But to the point; do you think that this belt can take some of the stress off my Sciatic nerve and reduce at least a fraction of the pain?

      Thank you for your time,
    • Steve
Sciatica does not necessarily com from your SI joint, which is different than the L5-S1 lumbar vertebrea. A lumbar sacral orthosis may be a better choice for you. The Exos FORM 627 Spine Bracing System This brace will keep you lumbar spine in a neutral position while standing, walking and sitting and can be adjusted with the knobs on each side for compression of the spine.
