Mild Support Ankle Braces
There are many types of mild support ankle braces. These include ankle braces, ankle sleeves and ankle wraps. Mild support ankle braces are typically made of stretchy, flexible material (such as elastic) to help provide compression. They may also come with metal stays, which are supports that are sewn in to the fabric on each side of the ankle to add stability. Mild support ankle braces are ideal for non-contact sports and activities. For example, athletes involved with cheer and dance may benefit from the added ankle stabilization that a mild support ankle brace provides. Mild support ankle braces may also help a patient who is healing from minor ankle sprains and strains, also known as first degree ankle sprains. During this type of injury, the ankle may feel sore and stiff, but the patient is still able to walk.
