The AirSelect Standard walking boot offers a moderate level of support and Aircast’s quality, effectiveness and comfort in an economical model. The main indications for the Standard are:

  • Stable fracture of foot/ankle/lower leg
  • Severe ankle sprain
  • Post-operative immobilization

The Standard has a durable, semi-rigid shell that supports the limb while providing protection. Housed within the shell are two adjustable distal aircells that provide compression and support the malleoli. SoftStrike technology absorbs and dissipates shock, while the light weight and lab-tested rocker sole combine to encourage a natural gait and a continuation of everyday activities.

Features & Benefits

  • Customizable, independent aircells (NO separate hand bulb). Integrated inflation system puts the user in control for an individualized fit
  • Non-marking, skid resistant rubber tread. For greater traction and longer wear.
  • Removal of heel pain. SoftStrike technology absorbs and dissipates the energy during heel strike,
  • Low profile rocker sole. The lab-designed rocker sole, enables a normal walking gait with less forefoot angulations and reduces hyperextension of the knee. Toe-off section continues the rocking motion, enhancing mobility. Mid-stance section is designed to minimize hip differential.
  • Custom and comfortable fit. Trimmable and heat moldable semi-rigid shell makes it easy to custom-fit the brace to the patient. Sleek, open-frame design provides ventilation and maximum patient protection and compliance. Shell contours around the malleoli, eliminating pressure for sustained comfort. AirSelect boots have improved width around the ankle area as well as uniformed sizing throughout the various sizes of the boot (XS-XL)
  • Ease of application. Three-strap system evenly disperses pressure, eliminates pooling of edema. Integrated inflation system is intuitive and permits quick and easy customization of each aircell<.li>

Aircast AirSelect Standard reviews

Jabroni
I love this walking boot. It is easy to don. It is easy to clean and it is very comfortable. I have no problem wearing it day and night. Just be sure to get the right size which is very important. The dual air chamber technology makes for a custom fit that you can change at any time for maximum support and comfort. The air bladders looked a little thin to me when I first got the boot but I have not had any problems with them so far after 2 months of solid wear. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because the knob that switches from one air chamber to the other fell off somewhere and I lost it. You can still switch chambers you just have to turn the valve with your fingers or a small pair of pliers. I'm trying to find a knob online now. I highly recommend this product because I feel that the problem I had was probably a fluke as I've been fairly tough on the boot working and all. - Jabroni

    • What is the heel height of the medium boot? My back is hurting due to my uneven gait and I want to purchase a shoe with the appropriate heel height for my other foot. Thanks!
    • Shelby
The depth of the sole of the boot is approximatly 1.5". we also have a product that you can purchase for your opposite shoe called the Procare EvenUp. http://www.betterbraces.com/procare-evenup-shoe-balancer
  • From Bob Burton at 8/25/14 10:18 PM
    • The dial to select which air bag to pump air into has rotated out of sync with the air connections. The numbers are currently located 180 degrees from where they should be - in the notch. As a result, the pump is blocked in one position and in the other position it pumps but neither bag fills. I can't figure out how it got turned, and also can't figure out how to return it to it's proper "clocking" to function properly. Can you help me to reset it to function. Thanks, Bob Burton

It sounds as if the boot is defective. I suggest you contact the facility where you recieved the boot. It has a six month warranty, and should be replaced.

    • Can you purchase just the dial for this boot? my daughter has this and the dial fell off.
    • Thank you for your question. The dial is not a replaceable part. The product does have a 6 month warranty. If you received the product within the last 6 months you can have it replaces at the office you received it from, or better braces.com if it was purchased off this site. • From sherri at 5/12/14 10:36 AM
    • How can you tell how much air to put in the boot? If I'm suppose to keep my foot elevated, should i let the air out while resting?
    • Sherri
The air is used for comfort in the boot and to decrease the movment of your ankle while walking. You should be comfortable, so you do not want too much air that your toes go numb or there is pain. You can let some air aout while elevating
  • From helga at 5/5/14 8:35 PM
    • Can I use this boot without the front piece? A fracture blister in the bend of my ankle is being irritated by the pressure from this piece.
    • Yes you can
  • From DULCE at 4/24/14 6:16 PM
    • How do I pump air into da parts dat need 2 be filled up? Xo I need a special pump?? Or does it bring its own pump..
    • The pump is on the side of the brace as well as a dial with 2 numbers on it. You tun the dial to the either 1 for the #1 air bladder and use the black pump on the side to inflate. Then turn dial to 2 for the second air bladder.
  • From Glenda at 2/11/14 7:14 AM
