The Donjoy Playmaker Sleeve is a popular intermediate level ACL knee brace that makes this brace ideal for those patients who have trouble applying a sleeve-style brace. This Donjoy knee brace provides dependable support for mild to moderate ACL and/or PCL, MCL and LCL instabilities. Donjoy knee braces use a patented "Four Points of Leverage" strap design to enhance overall knee stability during pivoting movements. This hinged knee brace has polycentric hinges that conform to the knee joint's natural motion for uninhibited movement of the knee. The Donjoy Playmaker has a low profile design for increased comfort. This product serves as an excellent return to sport knee brace or as an orthopedic knee brace for patients with arthritis, meniscus tears, or undergoing rehabilitation following an ACL reconstruction. Four Points Of Leverage Design
The strap design of the Playmaker knee brace family enhances support of the knee joint, and in particular, the Anterior Cruciate Ligament. The straps apply Four Points of Leverage which combine to successfully apply a net differential posterior force, or constant posterior force to the tibia, which reduces the instability in the ACL. This Four Points of Leverage design is used on the Defiance III, Defiance, Armor, Female Fource, 4TITUDE, Legend, and Playmaker braces. ACL and PCL versions feature patented 4-point dynamic leverage system.
Point 1 Anterior: The first point of leverage is the anterior thigh cuff. It acts as a point for rotating the femur anteriorly.
Point 2 Posterior: The second point of leverage is the posterior calf cuff. It acts as a point for rotating the tibia posteriorly.
Point 3 Posterior: The third point of leverage is a posterior thigh strap, which is applied while drawing the hinge bars posteriorly on the knee.
Point 4 Anterior: Incorporating the fourth point generates the crucial opposing force. By tightening and affixing the anterior tibial strap, the hinge is drawn into proper position, and the tibia is rotated posteriorly.
How do I measure myself for the right size?
Take your measurement 6" above mid-patella. That is, go 6" above your kneecap, and wrap a sewing-type tape measure around your thigh at that point. Use the diameter you measure here to choose your size.
